U12 Girls work with Smith Chiropratic Clinic in Bremerton

When the U12 Girls at Westsound FC will be going on ‘Guinea Pig’ duty at the Chiropractic Clinic question reigned in on coach Leigh Cullip ranging from ‘Why are we playing with animals for soccer training’ and ‘can some explain why Leigh is calling us Guinea Pigs’ to ‘Is a Guinea Pig an actual pig?’. Once the dust settled with our curious young players, the testing process was explained to them.

Dr. Graeme Smith and Dr. Forrest Hartford kindly donated their time to work with our U12 Girls group and educate them in injury prevention techniques.

At Smith Chiropractic and Sports Rehab Dr. Graeme Smith and Dr. Forrest Hartford combine Active Release Technique, a state of the art soft tissue therapy that combines massage and active stretching, with rehabilitative exercises and traditional chiropractic therapy.  The goal is to alleviate pain, improve function, and provide the patient with the tools to prevent re-injury.  Both Dr. Smith and Dr. Hartford have completed extensive post-graduate training in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries as well as passing the examination to become the only Certified Chiropractic Sports Physicians in Kitsap County.

‘We enjoy working with athletes and people of all ages’ Dr. Hartford continued ‘and we look forward to helping your organization and family stay healthy and active’.

The players will return in three months to be re evaluated. They currently work with the information given from the visit in our training. Rilee Watson, U12 player said ‘It is really helpful to understand how you body works and is great for the players to have stretches to work on during training’ the young player stated ‘It would be impossible to imagine training without this part anymore, the stretches are fun and hard work!’.

We want to thank Smith Chiropractic Clinic and their continuing support of Westsound FC and look forward to forging a long and prosperous relationship with them.
